Registration of Marriages is mandatory under the Haryana Compulsory Registration of Marriages Act 2008. Beginning from 16th July 2008 every marriage solemnized within the limits of Municipal Corporation, Gurgaon or every marriage whereof the bride/her parents or the Bridegroom/his parents ordinarily reside within the limits of Municipal Corporation, Gurgaon is required to be registered with the concerned Joint Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation Gurgaon acting as Registrar under the said Act. Registration of a Marriage must be carried out within 90 days from the date of the marriage. A marriage solemnized before 16th July 2008 can also be got registered under the said Act.
